Dead Decorations

Today I met up with some friends and some resident students from AUR took us to the Capuchini Bone Chapel, which has a beautiful church as you can see:

But underneath this church there are strange alcoves decorated with the femurs, skulls, hips, jaws, and other assorted bones of 4000 (dead) monks, and 2 (dead) children who were the Pope's niece and nephew. Who knew bones could be arranged in such a way as to be decorative? I'm thinking this is going to be a big trend in the fall, mark my words, human bones will be all over the pages of Home and Garden and in the show rooms at Pottery Barn.

  1. Hey Lady, I'm here with you mother, your grandmother, and your aunts. Aunt Clare says "I'm glad I'm in there with Benny XVI" because her Christmas tree is still up! We are all peeing our pants (um, your mother and aunts literally) laughing at your escapades and figuring out how the hell to pronounce all those Italian words. Everyone misses you and we wish you were here!!!

    Love,
    Gwen
and Mom and Grammie and Aunt Katie, Aunt Clare, Aunt Mary, and Uncle Jim. (Grandpop's asleep right now)

  2. Why am I not surprised that Grandpop was asleep? hahaha. I miss you guys too, I wish you hadn't gone to get gems and minerals instead of wanting to skype me, but I guess that's just the way the biscotti crumbles. (Tell mom I bet they have super deals on Depends down in the Old People Capital of Arizona)

  3. Don't be telling mom about any damn deals.I don't care what the heck it is-- There's no such thing as a deal. Unless of course you find an unidentified Leonardo.

    Love you Clara,

    Dad
